Mission Statement

Bush Racing Stable is committed to offering affordable Thoroughbred horse racing partnerships/syndicates for individuals to enjoy the “sport of kings” through fractional ownership. Our goal is to provide all of the fun and excitement that racing has to offer, with each investor exposed to only a portion of the financial risk, none of the hassle, and an opportunity to make a considerable profit with each partnership.

History

Bush Racing Stable was established in 2004 by Bryan Bushey. Our horses are stabled and trained at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, PA.

In April 2004 we claimed our first racehorse, Golden Nicolas, a Canadian-bred gelding for $8,000 at Penn National. Golden Nicolas was trained by Mary Cacchiotti and ridden to victory by Jorge Tipa in his next two starts, $10,000 & $12,500 claiming races at Penn National.

In 2005 Bush Racing Stable made a switch in trainers. We moved our stable (one horse) to the barn of Les Stickler Jr., a move that would turn out to not only be profitable but a great fit for us. Les’s hands-on approach with his horses paid dividends immediately when Golden Nicolas won his first 2 races and 3 of his first 4 under our new trainer. Golden Nicolas went on to win 5 races total for us in 2005 before being claimed in July at Charles Town Racetrack.

Since 2005 Bush Racing has remained with trainer Les Stickler Jr. and focuses on claiming horses that display consistent recent form and (in our eyes) room for improvement. We have owned several horses in our history and claim from tracks throughout the Mid-Atlantic at claiming levels from $4,000 – $20,000.

Today, Bush Racing Stable continues its racing operation at Penn National Race Course.
